Peanut Butter, Oreos and Chocolate? Yes, please!
Peanut Butter Oreo bars have three delicious layers! Start with a layer of crushed Oreos and marshmallows. A thin layer of creamy peanut butter is next. Melted semi-sweet chocolate chips complete this yummy concoction. I highly recommend that they be chilled until the bottom layer is cool and the chocolate layer has hardened.
See the yummy layers? Doesn’t it make you want to run to kitchen and whip up a batch of these amazing Peanut Butter Oreo Bars?! If you do, I can guarantee they won’t last long!
Peanut Butter Oreo Bars
I received this recipe years ago from a neighbor. We immediately loved them! The original recipe was not very detailed, with vague ingredient amounts. I have adjusted the amounts from time to time. It is quite difficult to ruin this recipe. Adjusting the ingredients slightly will result in the same great taste. If you add more Oreos, the bottom layer will be thicker. More marshmallows make the bottom layer softer and more chewy. Add more peanut butter and they will be more peanut butter-y with a thicker peanut butter layer.
My recipe calls for a 9×13 pan but you can use a 9×9 brownie pan instead. The bars will be thicker but just as delicious. I purchase Oreos in a large box from Costco. The boxes contain 10 sleeves. My recipe calls for approx 39 Oreos, which is 3 sleeves from the Costco box. According to Nabisco’s website, a 14.1 oz Oreo package contains 36 Oreos and a 19.1 Family Size Oreo package contains 42 Oreos. You can use either the 14.1 oz or the 19.1 oz for this recipe.
